In refurbishing the Orchid, the interior design brief was simple – cosy but contemporary; intimate but informal; stylish but restful. Throughout the renovated bedrooms, function rooms, public areas and lounges, rustic, natural wood textures rub shoulders with dramatic splashes of vibrant colour. Bespoke furniture and objets d’art add extra personality and character and original period features have been enhanced and emphasised. The result is a setting which is at once glamorous and refreshingly modern, yet which harks back to understated grace and elegance of the hotel’s Edwardian origins. The antidote to clinical, corporate hotel décor, the Orchid is genuinely warm, welcoming and exudes a personality all its own.
