Kick back, chill out, unwind
Remodelled completely as part of our recent refurbishment, the lounge and bar now form the hub of the welcoming, open-plan space that greets you upon arrival. The gentle buzz of conversation, the civilised clink of glasses, the fresh and at once familiar sights and sounds of the heartbeat of our warm and welcoming hotel… With subtle lighting, the natural, rustic textures of wood and stone offset by a contemporary palette of vivid colours, the ambience is distinctly laid-back and informal. In all, a pleasing fusion of what’s best about Bournemouth’s chilled-out beachy vibe and a subtly sophisticated metropolitan chic.
“We’d planned to have a quick drink in the Orchid bar before strolling into town.
Two convivial hours later, we realised we were perfectly content to stay put…!”

Authentic coffees,
speciality teas, wondrous wines
Whether you’re chatting over a coffee or unwinding with something a little stronger, you’ll appreciate the extra effort that’s gone into our beverages here at the Orchid. We’ve gone out of our way to track down some of the finest speciality teas and authentic arabica coffees for your delectation. Our winelist, meanwhile, is a travelogue of some of the finest old-world and foremost new-world vineyards, a celebration of the winemaker’s art at its diverse best. And on the bar, some fabulous local draught bitters jostle for attention with premium European beers. It’s fair to say you’ll be spoilt for choice.
Share the pleasure
A seamless extension of the lounge and bar areas, and sharing their intimate, chilled-out ambience, our new Food Hall Restaurant offers an elegantly informal dining alternative. From mezze sharing plates, antipasti and salads to some decidedly indulgent desserts, at the Orchid it’s all about sharing the pleasure. As with everything else at the Orchid, the emphasis is on spontaneity and simplicity… great food, good company – without all the ceremony.
